In line with the SADC Health, and HIV and AIDS Ministers’ focus on TB, a partnership comprising of major actors in the fight against Tuberculosis has been formed, including NEPAD-AUDA, The Global Fund (GF), Stop TB Partnership, WHO, the World Bank, the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC), and the WITS Health Consortium.
A meeting of the partners was convened in Gaborone, Botswana, at the request of NEPAD-UADA and the SADC Secretariat, to facilitate consultations with each other and be able to (i) align various interventions responding to the high burden of TB in the region and (ii) agree on the necessary way forward to the effective elimination of TB by the year 2030.
